White-tailed Deer are an important but sometimes troublesome part of our local eco-system. Learn more about their lives with an informative power point and by participating in activities. Finish with a walk to look for signs of deer activity along our trails.
Mr. Pete’s Unnatural Trail

Interactive, outdoor hike for families
Join Mr. Pete on a unique trail of discovery. Mr. Pete is a little confused. We told him to lead a hike to find certain plants and animals. However, his idea of a Blue Jay is a letter “J” painted blue. Help him find the other “unnatural” plants and animals while learning natural history about the actual living things.

Family oriented trip
Spend a day exploring the fabulous Field Museum! Our visit will coincide with the special Darwin exhibit where we will learn about the man who wrote The Origin of Species, the basis for modern biology. The Darwin exhibit contains hands-on activities, books, fossils, journals, interviews, live animals and more! General admission to the museum’s permanent exhibits is also included. We’ll be able to meet Sue, the world’s largest and most complete T. rex as well as explore exhibits about animals and cultures from across the globe! Fee includes charter bus transportation, general/special exhibit museum admission, and pizza dinner. Bring money for lunch on your own in the museum.
