If you’ve ever dreamed of being high in the sky with the birds, this is the trip for you!  Hawk Mountain, a wonderful sanctuary in the Pennsylvania Mountains is a special place in fall to see Migratory Hawks soaring, gliding and flying right past you atop a mountain ridge.  We will hawk-watch, visit the Visitors Center, and enjoy birding and hiking throughout the weekend.  We’ll also provide programming on the importance of these Indicator Species and why Hawks are counted & tallied every season all around the world.  Cost covers all transportation, lodging, food, park fees, and expert naturalists every step of the way!  Let us do the driving and take care of all the details!

What to expect: We’ll travel as a small group of about 10 people in one of KNC’s large vans, Friday and Monday will be long travel days with about 11 hours of drive time, Saturday and Sunday will be spent exploring Hawk Mountain(www.hawkmountain.org).  Meals will consist of picnic lunches, home cooked breakfasts and dinners at local restaurants.  Lodging will be at the Hawk Mountain Bed & Breakfast (www.hawkmountainbb.com), very close to the mountain and a great, out of the way setting to rest.  (Most rooms have a queen bed however there is one room with two twin beds.  Please specify which you would prefer when registering.)
