The Ecological Management and Services team is a service of the Kalamazoo Nature Center designed to work with private and public landowners. From pre-project data collection to post-project monitoring, Conservation Stewardship's Ecological Management Services provides all levels of ecological management.

Our Team Provides


Invasive Species Management

Certified pesticide applicators quickly and 

efficiently remove a wide variety of invasive species.



Native Residential Planting

Design and installation of live plantings for habitat enhancement or wildlife friendly residential yards. 

Natural Shoreline Installation

Certified Natural Shoreline Contractors use bioengineering elements including coir logs and native plants to protect shorelines from erosion and promote healthy lakes. Assistance with MI DEQ permitting is available.

Large Scale Habitat Creation

Consulting and installation of native seed mixes for prairie or other native habitat reconstruction or enhancement.

Wetland Mitigation

We assist wetland mitigation establishment with native plants and invasive species removal.



Bio-Control for Purple Loosestrife

We provide Galerucella beetles as a safe and effective method of controlling invasive purple loosestrife. Beetles are raised on host plants and sold in pots of 500-1000 beetles each. Cost is $55 per pot.
