Symbolically Adopt an Animal at the Kalamazoo Nature Center

ADOPTING AN ANIMAL Support KNC’s Animal Care Program and learn more about these amazing animals. Symbolically adopting helps to provide care for an animal at KNC, gives an unreliable animal a permanent home (they will live and be cared for here at KNC), and supports educational programming. Your adoption is good for an entire year from purchase and is renewable!

ADOPTING A HUMMINGBIRD Help out bird banding programing through the Kalamazoo Valley Bird Observatory. KNC’s KVBO has been using bird banding as a tool to help better understand migration patterns, longevity, dispersal and stopover of both breeding and migrating birds at our two locations, the Kalamazoo Nature Center and Pittsfield, for over 30 years.

ADOPTING A BUTTERFLY Support MiBN’s research of Michigan’s changing populations and quality of Michigan ecosystems while supporting our engagement of the Michigan public in significant community science research.

Adoption packets are $50 and include a personalized certificate of adoption, a photo of your adopted animal, and a fact sheet.

Meet & Greets with your animal are available for $50. (this excludes Hummingbird and Butterfly) Please choose a Meet & Greet option during the registration process, then schedule a time to meet your animal with a KNC staff member.
