Welcome to DeLano Farms!
Located at 555 West E Avenue. DeLano Farms is the western portion of the Kalamazoo Nature Center's 1100 acres. This working educational farm features learning gardens, summer time farmyard animals and a U pick field.
Registration is now closed for the 2020 CSA; sign up for the Wait List if interested, and spaces will be filled on a first-come basis if they become available.
DeLano Farms is home to chickens and goats year round and sits on the 1800’s homestead of the DeLano family, who settled on this spot in 1858. A log cabin and other historical structures can be seen when walking the many miles of beautiful trails.
The focus of the farm is to get people out into the land in a responsible way. We strive to educate on the importance of historical knowledge and its continued use and understanding to create a sustainable future for generations to come.
Classroom learning opportunities can be found on the school programs portion of our website, but include topics such as Michigan's rich cultural history, land use, farm ecology, Michigan's resources, plant parts, where our food comes from, and farmyard friends.
Public Programs range from festivals to cooking demos and fun for all ages, including our Wednesday morning at the farm program geared toward preschool through middle school. See the Calendar for upcoming programs.
Farm Camp is also offered for your little ones who love to play in the dirt and grow their own veggies! Please visit Camp for details and to register.
Your visit to the Farm is included with regular KNC admission. Please check in at the Welcome Station or Visitor Center at 7000 N. Westnedge Avenue to get your wristbands, which are good for all KNC locations for the day!
