KNC Locations

With over 1,100 acres at our main KNC campus, located at 7000 North Westnedge Avenue, we have miles of hiking trails, an award-winning Visitor Center, and a wide variety of programs. We also have a number of other locations for hiking, programs, and rentals, from DeLano Farms to the new Urban Nature Park in downtown Kalamazoo!  Please note; some sites are not open to the public on a daily basis, and some are in currently in progress, like the Stryker Nature Preserve. Check out our locations below for information and directions - we hope you'll visit us soon!

KNC Main Campus

KNC's main location at 7000 N. Westnedge Avenue includes over 1,100 acres of forest, wetland, and prairie with miles of trails.  The Visitor Center is home to award-winning exhibits, with a wide variety of programs for all ages and interests. The Main Campus is also home to KNC Camp!

Nature's Way Preschool

Our award-winning nature preschool, located on Oakland Drive in Kalamazoo, offers experiences typically found in child-centered programs with thirty acres of natural areas serving as an extension of the classroom. Registration opens February 1 for the following year.

DeLano Farms in fall

DeLano Farms

DeLano Farms, at 555 West E Avenue, features the 1800’s DeLano Homestead, seasonal farmyard animals, gardens, miles of hiking trails, and much more. Your visit to the Farm is included with regular KNC admission. The DeLano Homestead is open during special events and programs throughout the year.

Stryker Nature Preserve is currently in Phase I of renovations!  More information will be available soon on this exciting project adjacent to Nature's Way Preschool in Kalamazoo.

Urban Nature Park at Portage Creek

Urban Nature Park

Located at 426 E. Michigan Avenue in downtown Kalamazoo, the Urban Nature Park (UNP) is a 4-acre green space running along the Portage Creek and Michigan Avenue.  The former Brownfield site is now open to the public with a hiking and biking trail running through the park!

Heronwood Field Station

Heronwood Field Station

Heronwood, a 5000 square foot ecological field station located on over 60 acres, is the home to several projects and programs for students and adults. The station features fully equipped laboratories and a GIS station and is available for private corporate rentals.
