Creature Tales Writing Workshop
Sunday, December 5, 2-3 pm

Audience: All ages

Meet: KNC Camp Amphitheater
Free event includes KNC admission.  No registration required.

In this unique writing workshop, participants will have the opportunity to create nature stories inspired by items from KNC’s collection of skulls, pelts, taxidermy, and more. They will create a story board representing an original tale inspired by the bio-artifacts and other items found in nature. This is a wonderful way to enjoy family time outdoors while cultivating a love of literacy.  This program will take place in an outdoor covered space; please dress warmly.

Habitat Painting and Writing
Sunday, December 19, 2-3pm

Audience: All ages
Meet: KNC Camp Barn
Free event includes KNC admission.  No registration required.

Hike, paint and build a story!  Families will go on a short guided-hike with a KNC educator who will help to spot animal habitats along the way.  Children will return to the camp barn to use watercolors and stamps to create paintings of the habitats they saw on the trail and the animals who might live there.  Older learners can write a story and younger ones can create an oral story featuring the animal characters in their artwork. This program will take place both indoors and outdoors.  Please dress warmly and prepared snowy or wet trails. The indoor art classroom will have the doors open and participants will need to wear masks.
