Holidays at the Homestead
Sunday, December 3, 1-5 pm
555 West E Avenue
See firsthand how our holiday traditions began and how they were celebrated in the 1800’s.
Spend the afternoon exploring the beautifully decorated 1858 farmhouse; kids can enjoy making a ginger cookie and a holiday craft while spinners and weavers demonstrate their craft to the sounds of live music in the parlor.
Outside, the blacksmiths will be at work in the blacksmith shop and visitors can stroll to the log cabin to try your hand at candle making and see how our earlier ancestors lived during the long winter months to the light of a candle.
Afterwards, sample an original recipe, homemade ginger cookie and hot cider back in the DeLano House and feel the warmth of the holiday season.
Listen for the jingle bells signaling the arrival of the horse-drawn wagons ($2 per ride, (weather permitting) which will take you on a ride through the beautiful winter landscape. Music in the Homestead parlor will add to the festive atmosphere during Holiday at the Homestead at DeLano Farms.
Admission is $7 for adults, $6 Seniors, $4 Children & students 4-17, Kids 3 and under Free. KNC members enjoy free admission.
