Maple Sugar Festival

Join us for our annual Maple Sugar Festival! Start your day with delicious pancakes smothered in real Michigan maple syrup. Go back in time as you walk along a wooded trail with a Naturalist for a historical maple sugar tour. Experience our amazing Birds of Prey up close! The whole family will enjoy the sweet experience. Don’t miss a visit to the DeLano Homestead during the festival to experience maple sugaring and life in the 1800s. Wagon rides and demonstrations by blacksmiths, spinners and fiber artists will round out the activities.  Check out the schedule of activities here!

Earth Day 5K

Earth Day Celebration, Earth Day 5K & Kids' Raccoon Run

Saturday, April 22, 2017, 9 am - 5 pm
Free Admission Day

Start off your day in the Earth Day 5K!  This fun and challenging run/walk will feature some of KNC’s most beautiful trails. The course includes steep hills, forest views, and a variety of terrain.  $30 Earth Day 5K registration fee includes an official run shirt (if registered by April 1).  
Kids’ Raccoon Run:  The Raccoon Run for ages 8 and under is a stroller-friendly 1K romp around the Habitat Haven Trail.   $15 1K Kids’ Raccoon Run registration fee includes a short sleeve t-shirt (if registered by April 1). 

Enjoy activities and fun programs all day long while celebrating Earth Day with free admission at KNC!

Celebrate the harvest season by exploring all that DeLano Farms has to offer! New this year ... browse and shop creative artisan booths with products that stand the test of time. Visit the homestead and the blacksmith shop, check out the harvest food demonstrations by Executive Chef, Eric Gillish,  take a horse-drawn wagon ride (weather permitting), and enjoy fun games, live folk music, and activities for the whole family. Meet: DeLano Homestead lot, 555 West E Avenue.

Join us for our annual non-scary Halloween alternative! Meet misunderstood enchanted critters as they come to life along the trail. At the end of the walk, make a craft, listen to music, enjoy a snack, and sip some hot cider. Join the fun by coming in costume! Tours leave approximately every 15 minutes — rain or shine — and are geared for children 12 years and younger. Meet: Visitor Center parking lot. The final tour begins at 6:30 pm. Fee: Members $6/participating child, Non-members $8/participating child. (Note: No additional admission fees for this event.)
