The Kalamazoo Nature Center builds connections between people and nature. We see climate change as a fundamental threat to this work. A key part of KNC’s climate response plan is to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2035. But, as a nature center with nearly 1,500 acres of land, it is also important to explore nature-based strategies for improving local climate resilience. Join this webinar to learn more about how KNC’s Conservation Stewardship Department is using forest carbon management to integrate climate planning with sustainable land management.
This project was made possible through support from the following:
- Inventory and modeling via NCX,
- Planning guidance via the Northern Institute for Applied Climate Science,
- Financial support via the Michigan DNR’s Urban and Community Forestry Grants Program.
