Nature of Literacy Series: Story Sundays

Everyone has a story to tell, including Mother Earth and her inhabitants. KNC’s Nature of Literacy series of free programs encourage a connection to nature and promote various forms of literacy. This includes reading, oral storytelling, nature writing, field journaling, or creative writing. These programs provide a wonderful way to enjoy family time outdoors while cultivating a love of literacy.

KNC believes that connections to nature and literacy are essential to the well-being of all people. In an effort to foster both in our greater community, Nature of Literacy events are held bi-monthly on Sunday afternoons through the school year. They are free for all and KNC admission is included with program attendance. No registration required. Programs will take place in an outdoor space, so please dress appropriately.

“Give a Book, Take a Book”

Nature of Literacy events will include free book giveaways. We also endorse the “Give a Book, Take a Book” philosophy; feel free to bring any books in good condition that you would like to pass on to others. If you are not attending a program but are interested in donating new or gently used books for any age group, email Jen Rice at
