After School Animals

Head to KNC after school to visit with a KNC educator, animal care manager, and animal ambassador for feeding time!
While you learn about each Ambassador and how they represent their wild counterparts, you’ll also get a behind the scenes view on daily feeding, care, and training practices are done.  Afterwards get an up-close view at our ambassador when they come out to visit you while you are here.

Fee: Included in regular KNC admission.
Registration Deadline: Free with regular KNC admission. Please register; drop in registration is welcome if the program is not sold out.

Tiger Salamander

Salamander: SOLD OUT
Tuesday, May 7, 4:30-5:30 pm

Discover where you can find KNC’s ambassador Tiger Salamander inside the Visitor Center, then get a chance to find some wild salamanders out on a trail. Learn what it takes to keep our tiger salamander happy and healthy. We will then head out to a nearby trail to search for some wild salamanders to observe. Dress for outdoors.

June 11: Beech Maple Trail with Corn Snake  

July 9: Habitat Haven Trail with Turtles  

August 13: Fern Valley Trail with Salamander 

School is out for summer, but learning about KNC’s ambassador animals is in full swing. Head out to a different trail each month with your young scholar to meet and learn about a variety of animals before you journey on the rest of your hike.  No registration required for the summer Trail Animals, just drop in!
