Raising Hay and Planting Roots Podcast Coming in March

This podcast mini-series was created by Dr. Michelle Johnson, local historian and activist. The program’s four episodes explore the life and art of four local black women; Linsay Kelly, Salina Johnson, Heather Mitchell and Remi Harrington. They reveal the links between creativity, identity, land, farming and legacy. These are family stories about the history of Black agricultural land ownership, art, oral history and current cultural movements. Each story demonstrates a specific Black environmental ethic. This mini-series by Syncopate moves us towards a shared understanding of our past, present and future, as it illuminates the importance of our ties to the land.
