KNC Camp 2020KNC Camp Reimagined

Planning for KNC Summer Camp was an extraordinary challenge this year. Like the rest of the world, we didn’t know if circumstances woudl allow us to have camp. If so, then that camp would look different from any other year. In the end, we were able to reimagine camp and complete 8 sessions that ran July through August. We were thrilled to serve 124 happy campers. We had a great time doing some traditional camp activities that we all love, while keeping campers safe. There were no COVID outbreaks. It was obvious that many of the campers and staff alike had missed connecting with others outside their home. Campers did an amazing job with self and social awareness. They effectively communicated needs despite the challenges related to mask-wearing and distancing. The success of KNC Summer Camp 2020 was due in large part to camper families and staff being diligent about safety away from camp, and we are grateful to their cooperation.

Camp Scholarship Program
We believe that every kid should have the chance to come to camp. Learn more about our Camp Scholarship Program to help make camp more affordable for your family. We welcome kids of all abilities and will work closely with you to make sure your child has a great experience.

Camp processes related to COVID-19
We hope your child will join us to enjoy the woods and trails in small groups and to make connections in new ways this summer. Camp will implement several safety precautions this season, including: health screenings, increased hand washing, face cover/mask wearing (especially when a six foot distance cannot be maintained), physical distancing within groups, cohort use (small groups, no mixing of groups), limited equipment sharing, increased cleaning and disinfecting, and all camps will be held outdoors. It is important to note that, due to the nature of COVID-19, we cannot eliminate all risk of exposure even with these practices in place. We know that campers may need extra reminders and grace during this time. For more details, please see the Parent Handbook.
