Preschool Explorers
Come dressed to explore the outdoors while developing early childhood readiness skills with your child. Each week you and your child will enjoy a nature inspired program based on a monthly theme with centers, a story, a movement activity and a craft. Preschool Explorers runs most Tuesdays all year with different themes each month!
July Theme: Water Wonderland Dive into the magical world of water! Preschoolers will learn about the importance of this precious resource while they observe aquatic critters that live in our Michigan waters. We will cool off with water games, stories, and crafts.
August Theme: Reptiles & Amphibians Spot the summer’s slimy and scaly animals! Discover these unique animals and how they survive and thrive in Michigan for this fun critter month at Preschool Explorers. Meet KNC animal ambassadors, learn about their environments, and why they are important to our ecosystem.
September theme: Nature Sounds & Sights
As summer gives way to fall, we will be using our senses to sharpen our observations skills in nature. We will take in the sounds and sights all around us to learn more about how Michigan’s wildlife changes with the seasons.
October theme: Signs of the Season
Discover the wonders of the autumn season as we celebrate nature’s fall bounty. October Preschool Explorers will focus on fostering curiosity, creativity, and a deeper connection to the rhythm of the changing seasons.
November theme: Rocks & Minerals
